For over 40 years, Keiser has been transforming the way people of all ages and fitness levels train, helping them improve performance and quality of life. However, this success story began more than 45 years ago, when Dennis Keiser was hired by a leading manufacturer to design the first variable resistance machines. A year later, he founded Commercial Design—an engineering consulting firm specializing in fitness equipment development. In 1976, Dennis was joined by his brother Randy, and a year later they founded Keiser Corporation. Having received a series of patents for variable resistance weight stack designs and hydraulic machines, Dennis applied for patent protection on a new concept of variable resistance using compressed air (pneumatics). In 1978, the brothers introduced to the world the first pneumatic resistance training machines for building strength and power.
Today, more than 80% of the world’s top professional sports teams train on Keiser equipment, including every Major League Baseball team, champions from nine countries in soccer, multiple American football champions, and countless Olympians. They are joined by everyone from NASA to the Navy SEALs, medical experts and rehabilitation specialists, as well as major fitness chains such as LA Fitness.
