Polyethylene guides on the bottom of the I-beam for stable operation
Used in the annual Firefighter Combat Challenge
Certified and approved by On-Target
To use the Force Machine, the person stands on the foot platforms, positioned on either side of the I-beam, and then strikes it with a specially designed 9-pound, anti-rebound sledgehammer
On average, it takes twenty to twenty-five strikes to move the I-beam 5 feet (1.5 m) — a level of effort comparable to many forced-entry situations
The movement accurately reflects tasks associated with structural firefighting
